The Church Green Deli – NOW OPEN!

The Church Green in Lymm, recently named as one of the best in Britain for the Summer season by The Times, has today opened The Church Green Deli, offering the very best in seasonal Cheshire & Lancashire produce.

After 12 years of being the face of the hugely popular Cheshire pub, Chef and Owner Aiden Byrne saw an opportunity during lockdown not only to improve the pub’s outside dining area to enable Covid safe and socially distant dining, but to introduce a delicatessen filled with locally sourced produce and homemade food by The Church Green team themselves, including charcuterie.

One feature of the newly opened Deli will be Aiden’s homemade pies, which became an overnight success during lockdown, selling out daily to the Lymm community.

Aiden said: “The process has been long, but we wanted to get everything just right. We’ve got a fantastic relationship with each and every one of our suppliers and couldn’t be prouder of what we’re serving in the Deli.”
Officially opened today at 11am by Steven Broomhead, Chief Executive at Warrington Borough Council, the Deli is already proving popular with the local community.

From Forest Gin, Movenpick ice cream and artisan cheeses, to a varied range of meat from the Church Green’s own butcher WH Frost, Aiden and Sarah have even worked with Exchange Coffee in creating a unique blend of coffee beans promising sweet vanilla and chocolatey caramel flavours.
“We use the products ourselves within our menu at The Church Green, so everything you eat in the pub, you can also purchase from the Deli to enjoy at home, along with a luxury wine or bottle of gin!

“Sarah and I are very proud of what the team have accomplished. After such a busy month in August thanks to Eat Out To Help Out, we are really excited now to focus on this fresh project, and are really thankful to our local community for all their support so far.”

The Church Green Deli is open Wednesday-Saturday, from 8am until 7pm, and Sunday 9am-5pm, and is also offering takeaway sandwiches, coffee and ice creams for residents and visitors to enjoy a taste of The Church Green at home or on the go.
